This recipe is from The Golden Door Spa. I had to get the recipe because it is the perfect summer no-bake dessert. I will admit I have been feeling pretty lazy with all the hot days, but not lazy enough to make dessert! First of all it is delicious, second I didn’t even turn on my oven. Raw dessert may be your new thing after you try this refreshingly light dessert. With blueberries at their peak of the season I thought I must try this recipe NOW. A treat you can get the kids to help out with (always good to have some help, right??). The citrus soaked blueberries perfectly balance the sweet almond-date shell. This is definitely a dessert that does not weigh you down. Great dose of antioxidants and fiber from those yummy blueberries. Also protein, and healthy fats, thanks to the almonds. Low calorie (under 250!) and so easy. We need desserts like these on hot summer days…enjoy!
When I think of Valentine’s Day I think of chocolate.
Rich, dark, sinful chocolate. But for me, that’s not enough. I needed more. As if chocolate wasn’t enough. Hey, why not add peanut butter, with a sprinkling of maldon. There, now that is one sinfully satisfying dessert that will embrace all cravings for decadence. It’s Valentine’s Day. This sweet, yet salty, crunchy, yet creamy chocolate tart will have your partner weak at the knees. Now is the perfect time for any bribery. It’s that good. This tart does have a few processes to it, but worth fussing over in the kitchen. As with most of my recipes, each component can be made a day or two in advance.
There were such a beautiful variety of plums at the farmer’s market a couple of weeks ago. Santa Rosa’s, Reds, and Black varieties, so I decided to get some of each to bring home. Of course I bought more that my family could eat before they are too ripe due to the bright colors screaming “pick me”! I just had to splurge. That splurge of plums led to this incredibly easy (and I mean EASY!) plum tart recipe that I adapted from the lovely Ina Garten.
